The quick starter
It’s all been rather quick for Sina Velke, (33). In just 18 months, she’s not only done her hairdressing training in the family salon, she’s gone on to achieve star status at international level. Originally from Kassel in central Germany, she’s now working backstage at fashion shows in Milan, Sydney and Paris. Amongst others, she’s been styling Chanel’s team of models. For herself, however, she goes for a casual look – always wearing a hat. “I first got the habit in Australia”, she says; apparently it was due to the hot sun during photo shoots. At the New York fashion week in September, Sina will be joining the team of her mentor, top stylist Didier Malige.
