What you need to contour like a star

The products you choose will decide if your contouring will look natural or fake.

In my September Highlights I chose some of the best highlighting products like the sculpting powder duo from Illamasqua which will help you to achieve a natural but still defined contoured look, which you will also be able to wear in daylight.

I suggest to do the contouring in daylight, if possible, because electric light will make products on skin look differently than how they will look outside in daylight. If you contour for your evening make-up, you can of course then use more product and emphasize your bone structure in your face even more, but be always prepared for harsh light which will give away caked on make-up products.

Always blend well with an angled cheek contour brush. Laura Mercier has a great one.

With the Concealer and Correct Duo from Mac you highlight your face. The very fine texture of the concealer won’t even give away that you are wearing make-up.

With the Instant Brow Pencil from Benefit you frame with your eyebrows your face and the Blush Dandelion Rouge will help with a healthy glow and a rose shimmer on your cheeks.

The HipHop Duo Hood by Air played with extreme contouring for their s/s 2016 collection. Check out the close-ups to find all different versions of contouring. As they were going for a very arty look, they did not blend the products but it really helps to get a feeling how many different versions of contouring are out there and what maybe the best way to contour your own face.

Have fun with trying those great products and finding out which way is the best way of contouring your face.
