To have a boyfriend is good for many reasons but if he makes you fall in love with NYC even more even though he is living in Germany still … you have picked the right one.
I met my man last December in Berlin and I confronted him straight away with the fact that I would move to NYC early the next year. So far he has visited me twice and when he comes for his visits we discover Manhattan together and for a change I experience my new city like a tourist.
I have to confess that my new home sometimes overwhelmes me and then I wish I was back in Sydney, where the ocean is right at your doorstep and the nature begins pretty much in your courtyard.
This architectural cruise around Manhattan is by far the most beautiful activity I have done in and around the big apple. The Hudson and the East River are of course not alike the ocean in Sydney but… to be on a boat and see pockets of nature plus this mindblowing skyline is a combination which is just sinply unique.
It often just helps to change perspective in order to see the beauty again and to finish the day in the rooftop-bar from The Standard, overlooking these beautiful highrises during sunset, just signed and sealed it: NYC is an amazing city, it is THE city.
